What Data We Collect

We collect only the following information when you join our waitlist:

• Email address - provided by you when signing up

We do not collect names, payment information, or any other personal data through our waitlist form.

Why We Collect It

Your email address is collected solely to:

• Notify you when TranscribeLM is available for download
• Send occasional updates about the product development (no more than once per month)

We will never use your email for marketing unrelated products, and we will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.

How We Store Your Data

Your email address is stored securely using Netlify Forms, a service provided by Netlify, Inc. Netlify uses industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your email address until:

• TranscribeLM launches and you've been notified, or
• You request deletion of your data

After product launch, we will delete waitlist data within 90 days unless you've opted in to continued communications.

• Access - Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction - Request correction of any inaccurate data
• Deletion - Request deletion of your data at any time
• Withdraw consent - Unsubscribe from communications at any time

Our website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not use any third-party analytics services.

How TranscribeLM Handles Your Data

Local Processing (WhisperX)

When you use WhisperX (the default), your data never leaves your computer:

• Audio processed entirely on your Mac
• Transcripts saved locally in your chosen folder
• No internet connection required
• No third-party access whatsoever

Cloud Processing (AssemblyAI)

When you choose AssemblyAI for higher accuracy:

• Audio is uploaded securely (encrypted in transit)
• Audio is deleted immediately after transcription
• Transcripts are stored on AssemblyAI servers until deleted
• You can enable auto-delete in TranscribeLM settings
• AssemblyAI is SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, and HIPAA compliant

To opt out of AssemblyAI model training: Contact support@assemblyai.com to request opt-out. This is forward-looking only and must be done directly with AssemblyAI.

Using Transcripts with AI Tools (Claude, ChatGPT)

When you copy transcripts to use with AI tools:

• The transcript becomes input to that AI provider
• Check your AI provider's privacy settings (e.g., Claude's "Improve Claude" toggle)
• Summaries and analysis you create become new documents containing personal information
• Consider who might see AI-generated outputs before sharing

We recommend: Turn off AI training toggles in Claude/ChatGPT if processing sensitive conversations.

Our recommendation: Start with WhisperX for privacy. Upgrade to AssemblyAI only when you need better accuracy and are comfortable with cloud processing.
